Blue Skies

With the amount of snow on the ground is has been difficult to get a colorful shot of the outdoors. I cheated a bit and went back to the archives. These were taken in the late fall before the white stuff hit the ground. I shot these on a sunny fall Sunday morning using my 18-55 AF-S NIKKOR lens. I am fortunate to see these views every week as they are in the backyard of my local church. God is good!

Pets

A few colorful shots of our pets including a freshwater fish tank and a dwarf hampster named Mindy. It took me awhile to warm up to having a rodent in the house. Thankfully we have not had any escapes to date. I have to admit that she is fun to watch and definately has a mind of her own. My dog does not bother with her but does look in her habitat from time to time to see if she's still kickin. Our fish tank includes Balloon Molly's, Zebra and Red Zebra Danio's, Flame and Neon Tetra's and a few Platy's including the Mickey Mouse indicated by the Mickey Mouse ears on its back.

Snowcones of nature

A recent ice storm provided a chance to recharge the batteries in the D40 and hit the trails. Katie and I found a few interesting branches covered with ice including some dried up leaves that I refer to as a snowcone of nature.
